  • Recruitment of SI Officers 2017-19

    Soroptimist International is pleased to announce that recruitment of volunteer role, SI Director of Advocacy (an Officer role) for the 2017 – 19 biennium has been extended to 31 January 2017.

    The Soroptimist International Director of Advocacy (SIDA) works closely with the staff team based in Cambridge, UK, the team of SI UN Representatives, the SI Advocacy Committee and the Board of SI to deliver and support SI’s strategic priorities for Global Advocacy.

  • SI President’s Appeal, December 10th: Nepal

    On December 10th, 2015, Yvonne Simpson SI President 2015-2017, launched her appeal to the generosity of our four Federations to support women and girls from Nepal in rebuilding their lives after the devastating earthquakes of April and May 2015. This appeal from the SI President, which is with the SI theme Education and Leadership, is currently underway and continues next year.     Since the launch of the 16 Days of Activism campaign on 25 November, Unions and Clubs of Soroptimist International of Europe have organised numerous activities to raise awareness of the efforts it takes to understand, prevent and aid victims of violence against women and girls.   • Soroptimist International of Europe Appoints New Executive Director

    Geneva, November 30, 2016 Meltem Zourdos has been appointed Executive Director of the Soroptimist International of Europe headquarters in Geneva as of 1 December 2016. Meltem Zourdos holds Master’s degrees in Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin and in Corporate Communication from Erasmus University Rotterdam, as well as a postgraduate diploma in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University in Bologna.
